Asana & Meditation: Practicum & Discussion
Saturday, May 2, 2015, 1:30-4:30pm, Yoga Center of Lawrence, 920 Massachusetts St., Suite 4, Lawrence. Lead by Zen Master Hae Kwang (Stan Lombardo) and Todd Wyant.
This is a continuation of what we did in our Yoga & Zen practicum last December. The handout for that session is attached. Our intent is two-fold: to explore the common roots of Buddhist and Yogic meditation practice, and to help restore meditation to the current practice of yoga. May event will include:
- Brief further consideration of meditation practice in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
- A first look at meditation practice as outlined in the Bhagavad Gita
- Meditative asana practice as recommended by B.K.S. Iyengar in The Tree of Yoga
- Open discussion of future initiatives and possibilities
A detailed handout with source materials will be sent to enrolled participants prior to the event. Please register with Todd Wyant: marktoddwyant @hughes.net. Participation will be limited to 20.
