Compass of Zen: Theravada (Hinayana) part 2

January 27 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm CST

$15

Saturday January 27 10:30 a.m. This is the third in a series of 8 classes based on The Compass of Zen by Zen Master Seung Sahn. This class is the second of two classes on the early teachings of Theravada Buddhism (here called Hinayana). In this class we will be reading and discussing the chapters Dependent Origination, The Twelve Links in the Chain of Dependent Origination, The Four Noble Truths, The Eightfold Path, The Three Seals of Existence, and The Three Kinds of Practice — six chapters but only about 30 pages. The class is based on student discussion: each participant will speak for a few minutes on what struck them in the reading and what questions they had, then the teacher will respond, and then there will be a general discussion. In order for everyone to have the opportunity to speak, the class is limited to 15 participants. Zoom only. Registration available soon.

The classes in this series are semi-independent. You can take one, some, or all of them. Each class costs $15.
